Just unbelievable - old and burned out

An account was temporarily added to our pool. The ADT instructions run a full page. All this is to be done without compensation of course. Has anyone else read this? It is in the West. I think any MT getting this as a "helper" account should just help herself to the dictation and bypass all the ridiculous instructions. They seem to think MM is a charity and we are their contributors.

Soon we'll be paying them for the privilege of working for them. - nm

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT 1938 - burned out 2

There was just an article in my local big city Sunday newspaper about this. Employees should make sure they are payed in full. We are protected under the Fair Labor Standards Act enacted in 1938. Principal activities described as "integral and indispensible" to an employee's job are to be compensated for. We need to rise up and do something about this! They should be compensating us at least a small base rate per hour for all the added "principal activities"
we have to do -- reading client profiles, filling out ADT, researching terms and medications, sending cc's to the right doctors or getting sued, reading company e-mails, and on and on and on... Enough is enough. How can we get this fixed??

I make over min wage so I dont want to drop back..Are there exceptions to the act since we are production base..I would like to be compensated for an account that makes us do manual CCs even if they are in the database,,takes for ever!!!

And if you work doing VA accounts - sm

The VA mandates a base pay of 15 bucks an hour...so if your not cutting it with your company, they make up the difference or fire you..You can make more of course thats the min..

There are different rates based on the county and state - location of the VA facility

Some of those rates are lower than $15 an hour and many are higher. It just depends on location.

I was getting audited today, noticed earlier in the day. They had my four jobs and I was maintaining a 96%. The last job they audited came back with a 81%! I ended up today with a report of transcription today with 21 splits, different reports in it. The doctor just dictated 1 report after the other. In between each report I of course had to research and find the new ADT. It took me 3 hours to get through about 50 minutes of actual dictation. I don't know if he always dictates like this or not, I just know I had to work 2 hours past my shift to finish his mess knowing I'd lose it all if I didn't finish it. I sure will complain to my ...

Only work part-time, few days a week, so this week got four jobs audited at 100% each four days in a row, so they keep going until they can find an error and, of course, one small word was found incorrect! I have never had 5 audits in one week. How discouraging this is, very sad and pathetic. ...

Just checked out the job seeker's board and came across someone willing to work for 5 cents per 65-character line and 7 cents if the audio is poor quality. I just cannot believe someone would ADVERTISE or SELL themselves to work for such a low rate of pay, which probably would not even equal to minimum wage!!!!!!
