I am truly amazed - they did not cut my pay

Posted: Sep 10, 2013

Truly.  When I saw that I was sure that by the time I finished reading it I would have learned of a pay cut.  Wonder what kept them from doing that.  They snipped away at everything else.

Sh-h-h-h-h!

Well, they did cut your pay! - Trampled underfoot

By knocking back how much PTO you are accruing and instead "allowing" you to take off more time without pay, they DID cut your pay. They REALLY cut the part-timers pay since we get zero PTO now.

I lost several vacation days. I consider that a form of a paycut. - nm

I know but still - really expected a rate reduction

you know. Since it's a "rewards" plan and all that.

No, that will be phase III! - AnoscopyRecipient

Just wait....I figure this is phase I. Phase II will be to decrease insurance benefits while increasing what we pay for it, and THEN....phase III will be the pay cut!! Each phase is probably intended to weed out those who just can't take it anymore. If they get rid of what/who they want, perhaps phase III won't come, but I don't think I'll hold my breath. As it is, I have far too many orifices to breathe from after today!

I figure the part-time hours cut and restrictions are, at least partly, due to - tweaked

Obama Care. The stripping us of PTO is just a wicked idea that probably got a suit a really big bonus.

I truly believe they have nothing but disdain for us MTs based on their behavior. I figure they plan on convincing all the doctors and hospitals to buy their VR, and the rest to the ILPs. I fear for the quality/safety of health care.

What are they thinking? - tickedoff

First, a lot of us lost PTO. Now, just guessing, but if that affected 2000 MTs losing a week of PTO, that's about one million dollars in their pocket. Then the tiers are gone, the shift differential doesn't start until 11 pm, that's cutting our pay, guessing again, about 5%. See one of the reasons I have stayed is because they do pay better than other companies. So what is our incentive for staying here anymore?????

Tiers are not gone - dont start rumors

They just moved Radiology to a per line instead of per report which hopefully will be better. I used to work Radiology and so many times docs would cram 3 patients into one report or dictate a really long one and I got paid for one report. The short ones don't come around very often anymore.

There are still 3 tiers but of course the rates have not gone up since 2006 and in fact they lowered them, took away the shift differential, any kind of bonus or incentive, built in a penalty for QA submission and have the audacity to call it a rewards plan. Rewards means money and they are doing their best to not pay us any.

Amazed

After being beat down at MModal and finally blowing my stack and quitting, here I sit feeling exactly the same way with Nuance. Since the new pay plan started, I have managed to get a major error (3-pointer) on 1 report (and only 1 report) every week after having exactly 1 major error for the ENTIRE year I have worked here before that. It's amazing how bad I am at this job after 10+ years of working at it, priding myself on my line counts and accuracy. This company can kiss my you know what ...

I Am Literally Amazed That On One Screen

there is a whole long thread about people with NJA and no PTO time left because of it, people complaining about mandatory OT, AND comments about ads to hire more new MT's.  This company is truly weird. ...

Still Amazed By The "fast Readers Of ASR"
Jul 03, 2010

Not only does my ASR type gibberish a great deal of the time, it also types the wrong word a lot.  Just now the doctor said "his procedure was postponed" and ASR put "the procedure was postponed."  It also leaves out a ton of stuff such as "there was" and "in the;"  just totally puts nothing and goes onto the next word.  If I am not going relatively slow and really concentrating on the context of the report, I would miss some of these things that are not blatantly just misspe ...
