ALL YOU MQ HATERS! - yspit

Posted: Oct 27, 2010

I just wanna say, working for MQ isn't that bad...  I mean where else can you have a beer with work, just to take the edge off!!!  Happy Hump Day!  Drinks on me!   Tongue out

Quite honestly I'm failing to see the humor in drinking and working on patient records - Guess Im a Drag

I don't have so much as a glass of wine until I'm done with my entire shift, not even on my lunch hour. There's a pretty valid reason in-house positions don't advocate drinking on the job to "take the edge off," and I somehow doubt MQ or any other reputable institution would approve of MTs having a beer while working on patient records.

Maybe I'm just a drag, but it just doesn't sound like a good idea for me. I'd rather wait til I'm on MY time to indulge when I can actually relax and enjoy it and not worry about making a careless error due to my drinking.

I do! I also see the humor in paying MTs pennies per - line, & thinking theyll get quality records. sm

They get errors all the time from Indian MTs, their laughable speech rec that must be the butt of more than a few jokes just about everywhere, and pay so little that you have to fly through the work to stay at or slightly above minimum wage. It's obviously THEIR idea to lower quality, so might as well have a few drinks or go smoke one before starting your shift. The result couldn't possibly be any worse that what we've already seen.

How can you afford beer on MQ wages? - Anonymous

You can stay awake and get a buzz at the same time. I call that time management!!

Its all in good fun. Thanks for the "taking the edge off" post. A breath of fresh air on this board!!!

Lighten up. I have a friend who says things like this. She is such a wet blanket at parties,(or anywhere!) always looking like she's suckin on a lemon while everyone else was having fun. Looking down her nose at us... She IS a drag!

It's just meant for a joke. The OP is just a jocular soul, giving us a smile or a laugh.

I think if I drank while I worked it might even out the ELS gobblety goop I get and I won't have to send to much to QA! Gonna give it a try!

1 beer never hurt nobody.... - zzub

Sometimes I start have a panic attack while working or sometimes have just had enough. One beer helps. Heck, we used to go out for 'long lunches' a lot back in the office days. Guess some people just can't handle 1 beer. I'm a beer drinker, too! Take a sip for me! Anything past 1 just makes me sleepy, so I only have 1 very occasionally while working just to take the edge off.

That reminded me of a time I had gone to a bonfire at a friend's ranch last winter. It was cold and the alcohol was flowing freely, we were all sitting around the bonfire and before you know it I was SMASHED! I leaned a teeny bit over to pet our host's dog who was wandering around and fell right out of my chair! It was the best laugh that night! So yeah, WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS!

Hehe - reminds me of going to a divey bar with my - coworkers one day, drinking my first -

Harvey Wallbanger for lunch, and then falling asleep at my typewriter for most of the afternoon. Boss walked right by my office several times, and never noticed. And if he did, he never said anything about it. No, I didn't get fired. And yes, it's the last time I spent my lunch hour at a bar!

why is everyone so serious - take a joke, smile a little

Personally, I would rather have a captain and coke... beer is for hot weather and it is freezing here!

Maybe I could turn the lights up real high, move my lounge chair by the space heater, grab my drink and laptop and pretend I am in a far away land! Where are my sunglasses?

I'm right there with ya! When I wake up, shower, grab a coffee and head to the office area in the house, then sign on and get NO JOBS... I head back to the kitchen and enhance my coffee experience with some frangelico. Helps me prepare for the disappointing day ahead. (lighten up folks, just kidding.) ((not))!

QC Haters
Aug 14, 2013

I'd like to share something.  A few months ago I QC'd a report and was able to decipher a horrible dictator/dictation and found some obscure terms as well.  I was able to fill in all the blanks and provide good feedback. I was pretty proud of myself and I found myself thinking.... wouldn't it be great if we can be compensated for the "things" that we do figure out?  It is a tough job but I am not complaining.   Never in my wildest dreams did ...

For The FIESA Haters
Mar 02, 2014

Get this guys!!!  I went to check my FIESA.  Have 2000 lines edited over the last 2 days; 100% on at least 90% of them.  The others are all where they could fill in the blank with their wonderful BIONIC ears and then there was this 30 minute report I had that was VR and I missed 2 spots where only 1 space was left instead of 2 after a period and they marked me down for it.  How that changed or altered in any shape, form or fashion the meaning of the sentence is beyond me, but ...
