getting medical transcription word expanders - me

I am finally getting smart (after 26 years!!!) and looking into getting transcription expanders (but don't have much money) and have no idea what is best all the way around (user friendly, cost, easy to learn as you go, etc.). Any ideas? Thanks :)

Free 30-day trial offer and then you can get a license for around $30 a year, I think.

If money was no issue (yea right), then I would go with the Instant Text; just can't afford it yet.

I agree with anon - I've heard from several people that Instant Text is the best, but I've been using Shorthand for the last 2 weeks with my new company and I'm really loving it. Soooo user friendly.

I had relied on either the programs that companies offered or a very old Instant Text program that I had from about 10 years ago. I purchased the Instant Text because that is what I was familiar with. It is not cheap ($189) but I love it. It is easy, has a visible advisory, and is already loaded with many of the most common words and phrases. You can even store whole reports or templates in them (removing any personal information on the patient, of course).

Just bought it this year and I love it. I had previously worked with Word AutoCorrect and the built-in expander with Dictaphone ExText. Wish I had bought IT years ago!

Bayscribe. When my company was sold, I went with SH and have been very happy with it. I did the 1 month free trial, and I think they also offer month by month, 6 months, and 1 year. Very affordable.

So clearly..this is now part of ADT info and we are no longer paid for those keystrokes. plus..I guess I will throw in my 2 cents re: physician look-up. I cannot believe they did this. And who ever does not notice the change or recognize the detriment in providing good info in the report, clearly did not use the previous physician look-up to its advantage.
