Someone will say she has no work and/or is only earning minimum wage. Someone else will come in and claim to be making tons of money, tons! straight typing all day long, plenty of work. The thread will turn ugly and get nuked. Let's go!

In all honesty, I just straight typed for an hour and have 512 lines.

I just don't get why people think this is not doable.

No come on little lemmings, tell me how much of a liar I am :) I do admit, I'm only paid 8 cpl on those lines tho.

I just straight typed for 45 minutes and typed 654 lines! NO LIE! I am paid 10 cpl at a big national.

Totally doable! Oh yea, I edited 825 lines the hour before that at 6 cpl! :)

I do believe you. But I think it's really unkind to post these kinds of things when some are barely making a living, through no real fault of their own.

I also make 15 cpl. I LOVE BEING AN MT. I also am dressed to the nines, worked out for 2 hours this morning, got my honor role student children to school with nothing but smiles and, just to top it off, my house is so clean you can eat off the floors. I forgot to mention my husband is devilishly hansome as well ;)....beat that ladies!!!

I have not straight typed in 14 days and I can only edit 256 LPH per the productivity report passed out weekly at my company!

I suck, my kids are evil, my husband is lazy, I never work out, and my cat keeps dragging his behind on my carpet!

So, I've only typed 212 lines this past hour. The hour before that, I only edited 42 lines. I don't know if I'm having an off day or if it's slowing me down answering all the "Feeling lonely, please only callers 18 and up" calls that I also do from home in order to make a decent living. I do all this unshowered and unkempt, while sitting in my worn out PJs, a cigarette hanging out of my mouth, mindlessly ashing all over my desk, and drinking cold beer most days, granted I have made enough from my sucky VR job to be able to afford a 12-pack for the week! I love my job!! :-)

My busiest day... all templated work/canned reports on this dictator, so great money. However, the setup for this account was quite large and expensive...

Ironically, I was just supposed to overlook this account and not transcribe it, but because pay is not cpl but closer to radiology pay, MTs I tried to hire were too busy accusing me of shorting pay before even seeing account, so I ended up transcribing it myself.

I'm not an MTSO, never was, and never would be if I could help it. In one of the threads below someone mentioned that some larger MTSOs hold it against someone if they post something on a forum like this. I put myself in the position of the MTSO for a moment. This might be a foolish question, but are all the posts on MT school forums for real? I won't mention the school, but it seems that after several complaints about MT work, there's a sudden rush of "look how much money I'm making" posts. Seems a little too good to be true. Are there really people out there pulling in some good funds, or is this more like advertising for the school/MT industry? ...

Does anyone know why when I'm typing in the message field here, the font is coming out rather light and choppy? Example: Part of the "f" letter is missing. (All the letters have an issue.) This happens on my computer as well as another computer in my household--so it's not something with just my computer. The Subject field, Nickname/Alias field and E-mail field type out fine. Haven't got any feedback from instructors in weeks and any emails to them are returned with "permanent fatal errors". Found 2 other students with the same problem as of today.
