A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
I've been a transcriptionist for 15 years, mainly radiology. I've enjoyed being home with my two boys while they are growing up. They are still young, 11 and 7. But lately I've been thinking about going back to school for either nursing or radiology technologist. I've even visited one of the schools to talk about what prereq's I'd need to take. I won't be able to take the actual program until probably 2011. My dilema is I really like radiology, worked in the department before, like what goes on. But I've always dreamed of being a nurse too. I think the opportunities for being a nurse are much more wider - hospitals, schools, clinics, doc office, etc. A rad tech works in a hospital, clinics, and some doc offices. That's all I can think of.
Anyone out there have experience being a nurse/rad tech or know of someone in a similar situation?
