I'm fairly new to this board, but I couldn't help but notice a few things and felt the need to share. I've spent some time reading back through posts just to catch up and get a feel for what goes on here. I'm not a newbie by far, I love what I do, have a great position with a small company, and am just simply happy where I am. So, this is what I've noticed.
Some of you are very helpful and caring in your replies to each other. Those of you who lift each other up and help each other to get over whatever hurdle is in the way are why I will continue checking in here. Many of you are VERY informative and on a whole, you all "know your stuff!"
Many of you complain about "hating" your job, your pay, your supervisor, your QA, etc., etc. Many of you are downright mean to each other. Had I been on the recieving end of some of the replies, I'm not sure I'd dare post again.
VERY interestingly, I read a few posts from the "moderator" throughout and what that person said was to not do the things many of you continue to do; however, you continue to do so. In reading back and putting two and two together, I now see that most of you that do not follow the directions are the same who "hate" your etc., etc., etc. So, if simple rules for an MT website are too hard to follow, one would have to wonder how you handled the same with your job.
If I keep these thoughts in my head too long, most likely it will just burst or at least kill off a few struggling brain cells (I need to keep all that I can!), so I chose to just throw it out there. Now, I have a tough skin and can take the backlash, but I hope you will stop to think the next time you throw out a nasty reply to someone. You don't know what that person deals with on a day-to-day basis, what their mental state might be (many women deal with depression), how sensitive that person is, and so on. I'm pretty sure we are all adult women here, so lets act like it!!
Thanks for letting me ramble!!!
