I think the scammer target those most out of work. (sm) - Rose

They might scan places that post resumes.  Perhaps there have always been this many scams but with more MTs out of work more are catching them and reporting it.  They can also sell your personal information to other scammers so beware.  I have tried to get law enforcement to sting some of these and offered to be their bait, but none even get back to me.  Then I send them all my personal info (fake), bank account, SS#, etc. with a nice letter asking if they can get back to me ASAP.  Sincerely, Frank Wright, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Internet Fraud Unit.   For some reason I never hear from them again.

What reason is there for doing that? - Wondering

Law enforcement does not need your "bait" services and no purpose is served by sending scammers fake personal information.

I think you may have missed hearing that scammers can be very dangerous and that you should just not respond to them. They can often identify you from your email even if you think they cannot.

Why will scammers target people out of work? Because they will scam anyone.

In response to your comment that we should not respond to scammers because they can be dangerous: We cannot always know that we are dealing with a scammer when it is an ad for an MT because often companies do not identify themselves when seeking applicants.

As far as law enforcement not needing someone to act as bait, where do you get your law enforcement experience dealing with fraud?

I hope you get a job soon - your busy-body-ness

is maddening.

I find it fascinating that I've done this for 35+ years and have never ever ever EVER been "scammed" by a someone representing themselves as an MT service.

Perhaps you need to start looking for work in another field because one would think you would be able to spot the ads that are less than legit.

Maybe today you could just go visit the zoo or something.
If you find it so maddening - Why do you read her posts?

She clearly signs her name to them; you could oh-so-easily avoid them. It's almost like you have a personal grudge against her...
You have never been scammed in 35+ years because the scam - is a new one. Think before being so rude. nm

Apparently you are unaware that scams are not always revealed in the initial ad.

If my "busy-body-ness" is maddening, why do you continue to read my posts? If you are so well-informed on scams, why read posts about them?

This has been going on for several months and it is sort of a regular thing for them now.   I need my pay all a ...
