A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
I know the business has went downhill, at least for the transcriptionist who actually do the work, but I have never worked for a company that didn't pay you for reports typed. I had an account with specific instructions that if there wre any questions, they were to be sent to QA first. I was transcribing a P.A.s dictation and could not tell if he was working with the MD that was in the office or just on his own. His regular MD was not in the office. So I had 14 reports I sent to QA. Another transcriptionist on the account did the same thing, so evidently it wasn't all that clear. They felt we should have known and did not pay me for those 14 reports, even though they got paid for them. I don't work for free. That has never happened to me before. I worked mostly nights and weekends and the communication they had was awful. You would never hear back if you had a question, and the one person that would get back to you, they let go.
