Just business as usual. Some of the changes I think are just changes in business focus, and anyone who attended last month's chapter meeting could have heard for themselves.
I didn't say much earlier, I do not take it as all doom and gloom, but that our company is being proactive and trying to position themselves to be in a good position with the changing healthcare environment, EMR, etc. I think ALL companies are trying to do this. It doesn't mean an end to MT, or editor or whatever you want to call us. Adding coding to the classes offered at MTEC is another aspect. Much of what they are doing is very interesting, but not anything to be shared on a public board. Hopefully it will help them to be in a good position with the changes that are sure to come.
Changes are coming whether we like it or not. I dont fault Webmedx, they are trying to stay competitive (and NO I am NOT a suit!!) but I personally do not see a bright long-term outlook for MTs, but that is just my opinion, considering the pressure on rising healthcare costs, EMR, and globalization.
Thanks so much! - curious

It's nice to hear a post based on reality and facts rather than conjecture and sour grapes.
I do think WebMedx is doing just as you say, positioning for the next generation of HIM.

No matter what truth we speak on this board, there will ALWAYS be a suit here proclaiming we are all liars and everything is fine! "Ignore that little man behind the curtain! Only pay attention to the great and wonderful Oz!"

Downhill TAT spiral here - not looking good
[ In Reply To ..]
Since their new policy of refusing to assign work, my primary has been out of TAT every day since, and yesterday all my secondaries were as well - something that NEVER would have happened under the prior manager. I guess they're deliberately trying to upset our clients so they'll leave us, hence eliminating our jobs. Planned sabotage of what used to be a great company turns my stomach.
New OT policy - nn

We must have the same AM. Friday OT was "allowed" on one of my accounts but no one responded when I E-mailed them. (As was their request regarding the OT).
I don't know if this is happening in all areas or just the new AM in this one. Time will tell I guess. Either they will be gone or the accounts will. They aren't going to put up with that kind of TAT for long. Too many companies out there wanting the accounts.
13 HOURS OUT OF TAT - are you kidding me
[ In Reply To ..]
in my 3 years with this company, I have never seen anything like what is going on right now. I am not sure what to think. Four of my primary accounts DAILY are out of TAT...not by a few minutes....but hours and hours and hours even with residual left the next morning.

All of my accounts are low and have been, I have been getting worried about a repeat of the slowness last year! I would be thrilled with lots of work! They need to get organized so those of us twiddling our thumbs have some work!
