Has anybody worked for this company?  What was your experience?  Was there plenty of work?  Was the pay decent?  Thanks for anything you can tell me.

in answer to your questions - respectively

worked for this company? yes...8 years.
My experience with them? Not good. bad, bad, bad. quit.
plenty of work? absolutely not, ever.
Was the pay decent? 7 cpl. you MAY get 8 if mostly ESL. lots of VR at 4 cpl. Their system counts the lines "differently". Skims lines from MT.
pay on time.
very much cherry pickin' and no communication.
QA is a joke.

you decide for yourself.

I would wonder though if it was that bad why you were there 8 years? That's a long time.

I currently work at AssistMed. I have been there for 4 years. The platform is not difficult to learn. The person in charge of training is very hands on and helpful. I have never had an issue with line counting being low. As far as mostly VR, I do straight transcription and no VR, so I cannot speak for that end. You are assigned accounts with the same dictators so that it is easy to become familiar with those accounts. I have plenty of work and have never had a problem with line counts. I set my own schedule and have never had any issue with taking time off. My account manager and supervisor are both very professional. I like working here.

I was there that long because - at first

we had been bought out by AssistM. Things were okay at first. Then we got a supervisor who came from MedQuist, now M*Modal, and she started changing everything to be the way that MedQuist was, .... i.e. overhiring accounts so nobody could make line count requirements, making pay cuts, not allowing extra accounts, threatening to terminate if line counts were not met, even there was no work available. etc. That was why I quit....and of course, the cherry pickin that was allowed. That's why. so don't assume anything you know nothing about.
My experience is nothing like any of this. NM - IC

experience is the same. I still have friends who work there, and they are stating things much as the way they were when I left. You must be new. I am happy for you, if you are happy. That's all that matters. I can only attest to how things were when I was there.
I am not new. - IC

I trained at Andrews. I have worked acute care at large teaching hospitals. I have done medical abstraction and also general transcription. I am not new. I am sorry your experience was bad. Most of us have probably had a bad experience with a company. I don't know who your friends are that work here, what accounts they are on, or why they are still here if they are unhappy, but I can say that the accounts that I am on have plenty of work. I have also never been threatened termination over line counts or anything else. I understand that you want to let people know about your experience with this company, but I also feel that I need to let them know that it has not been my experience. I wish you well.
I meant new at - AM, not

your past experience and education. I was not questioning that. The information you are looking for concerning my friends who still work there is not for me to post publicly. I just know that things have not changed for them either when we all worked there together, and on different accounts, mind you. I am glad that your experience has been a good one, but not all of them are. I know many people who have quit there for many of the same reasons that I did, including mgt. so I am not exaggerating the truth in any way. I respect your right to give your opinion, but just because you are having a wonderful experience, does not discount mine and many others' experiences. It is not all hearts and roses like you describe either. I wish you well too. In another five years, you may have a different opinion.

Cough Assist

I'm transcribing a rehab H&P and they use the term Cough Assist a lot. The sentence is "Continue with cough assist b.i.d." ...

Mobile Assist Info
Apr 20, 2013

Was offered a job by this company but once they sent the email requesting all of my personal information, I felt uncomfortable sending my information to them. I know that is normal when you are hired for a position but the way they went about it, and the amount of information they required, copies of things, etc., plus wanting access to my computer immediately, but a work start date of more than a month away - made me just question sending my info to them, so I didn't.  ...
