They have to pay "prevailing wage;" which may or may not be higher than standard transcription rates depending on the area of the country etc. This may also include things such as "benefits/vacation/sick pay etc. VMTS/SNI/Stone Network got into VERY deep "poop" with the DOL about 6 or so years ago because they were not paying their MTs "prevailing wage according to DOL. I was one of those MTs and got about 5K back because the above company did not pay the MTs they way they were supposed to be paid.
