I’m know it’s annoying - Try not to let it upset you Posted: Jul 31st, 2023 - 9:57 am In Reply to: I'm very aware it's my job; brilliant detection Holmes - blarg
I was an MT for many, many years and I’m very familiar with bad dictation habits, but it does not mean the physician is incompetent, as you say. You must have known when you became an MT that you would have to contend with this type of thing on a daily basis. I’m not defending the doctor, but have you ever tried dictated a report without the aid of a printed page, and tried to punctuate it correctly? Not to mention trying to concentrate while you may have critically ill patients to care for and all the other issues that may be facing you on any particular day? Be thankful that you have a job, and don’t sweat the small stuff. Transcribe it verbatim and flag it for QA to handle. I understand your need to vent, but this isn’t going to change unless you address it with your manager or the actual provider because I doubt that either of them read MT Stars.
