proofing others' work - is easier

Posted: Sep 23rd, 2022 - 12:08 am In Reply to: Proofing other's work is easier than my own - OP here

Been an MT for 30 years and also a freelance writer and proofreader. The first thing I learned as a professional proofreader -- and this drives me nuts every day as an MT -- NEVER PROOF YOUR OWN WORK. YOUR OWN ERRORS ARE INVISIBLE TO YOU, ESPECIALLY YOUR OWN NAME, ADDRESS, OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU SEE ON A REGULAR BASIS. I have seen this warning countless times in proofreading education.
