My experience is similar....sm - My 2 cents

Was told by several hospitals and clinics in the area they'd hire once certification was obtained even if no experience only to be told when I finished the courses a few months later "we now only hire those with experience because a lot of coding is now EMR coded and our coders are only coding the complex cases that can't be automatically coded by EMR or offshore." Thousands of dollars wasted and a worthless piece of paper for the certification. The remote companies all said the same thing. I got my certification in 2020 before Covid hit. I have met coders now that have been laid off because of EMR coding and more going offshore.
