using 2 separate computers and different keyboards.
I would have thought that possibly the TAB key is just getting stuck and not allowing any other keys to work, but you said this is happening on different keyboards as well.
I've had keyboards going on the blink before because of one or more keys getting stuck, either from grime and gunk around the keys or underneath. I'd turn the keyboard upside down and give it a good shake, then clean the keys. But, this just doesn't sound like a solution to your keyboard problem...Good luck!
