There are laws governing paper charts leaving the premises, there are also laws governing electronic devices. Most facilities have privacy policies in place in this regard. No attorneys office has this kind of access without making a formal request,and generally paying a fee to obtain the records. No attorney in their right mind would let employees take records home. All of that being said, many chronologists work offsite for services and access records electronically. Brick and mortar offices have paralegals who do research. Regardless, I think these type of jobs are scarce. It's worth pursuing, but good luck getting hired.
