That used to happen to me all the time. Even though I'm not working directly for MM anymore, I'm on Fluency as a backup and it still cuts out every now and then.

So...I click on my internet icon on the screen and run diagnostics. Sometimes this fixes it. If not, I disconnect and then re-connect the internet connection. Again, sometimes this will do it too. Other times, I go to the source of my internet connection (router) to double check if everything is working ok. Whether it is or not, I will unplug for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. This will often clear it and you won't lose your work.

I have noticed that once the internet connection is up and running on your end, it takes a few minutes for the Fluency platform to catch up. In the meantime, you can still do the report yo were working on.

Of course, the worst case scenario is that you have to reboot your platform or computer. I would hold off on that..only do it as a last resort.
