Do you have a production requirement? - anon

My last employee position required 1600 lines per 8 hour shift. My pay rate was 5 cents per line. If I only averaged the 1600 lines per day in my production, that would equal to about $10/hr. Minimum wage in my state was $12/hr. By law, the company had to make up my pay to reach the minimum wage amount of $12/hr and to keep my medical benefits, PTO, etc.

A lot of these companies will not raise the pay scale for line production to more than 4 cents/line. Pitiful.

Bottom line, I think MT companies would rather skip the whole compensation package for employee status and just keep independent contractors on board who take care of their own taxes, benefits, etc. More profit for them, but not so much for us.
