The other option is to work overnight as most places have work available then and have a hard time finding people to cover it. Everyone seems to want day hours and then they want to apply for unemployment since there's nothing during the day.
As an IC, you're going to have to bend and flex and do whatever to get work at this time in this industry. You should be telling them you will be checking in later or changing your availability.
Meanwhile, look for a job outside of MT. Check Indeed, they hiring customer service workers from home and/or grocery stores are hiring.
