I remember MLS started being used... - Old Anon

in the late 80s to early 90s. I don't remember the pay going down or the industry going to pieces. What I do remember is the AAMT (now AHDI) was strongly pushing for recognition for MTs and was also pushing for people to go for certification. I think that using the term MLS (medical language specialist) was an attempt to lend credence/respect to what we did. I don't think it really caught on in a big way because we're all still basically referred to as MTs.
