Right now, I am an IC for three places. All of them are still allowing the use of Windows 7. They have taken the position that if you have the most updated version, you can still use 7. I am still getting some updates as well for 7, so it's not like Windows 7 has totally bit the dust. I might add that none of the companies I work for have nothing to do with VR or VDI either, so I think it totally depends on what your company's requirements are. Most of the Nuance-affiliated companies are requiring that you upgrade to Windows 10 which is my understanding
