How to call IRS - And get a person

Posted: Jan 27th, 2020 - 4:13 pm In Reply to: Now is Time to Shut Lee Tkachuk and Keystrokes down! - W2s must be received by this Friday

To get an actual IRS agent on the phone to help you follow these steps:
IRS 1-800-829-1040 from 7-7 M-F.
After choosing language, then DO NOT choose option 1 (refund info) instead choose option 2 (personal income tax).
Press 1 for (form, tax history, or payment).
Press 3 for (all other questions).
Press 2 for (all other questions).
When it asks to enter SS or EIN to access your account info, DON'T ENTER ANYTHING as after it asks twice, you get another menu.
Press 2 for (personal or individual tax questions).
Press 4 for (other).
It will transfer you to an agent.

Today I was on hold for 14 minutes. She was helpful, but she said Keystrokes has not entered or paid anything yet for my taxes and they have until February 14th. She said request a corrected W2 from Keystrokes and call IRS back after February 14, and they will be able to assist and go after her at that time.
