Please go in with your eyes WIDE open. Believe what you will, but know that MTSOs are NOT truthful in their claims. Some say, "We will pay 10 cpl for straight typing," but then there's no straight typing. Or there's no work!

Besides all that, 10 years is a VERY long time to be out of the field and expect to catch up, even with a refresher course. I'm also concerned about your limited specialty training. While radiation oncology knowledge is extremely admirable and takes a special training, it won't help you with other specialties and work types.

Goood luck! My basic recommendation is to just forget medical transcription completely.
