You file for unemployment in the state where you reside. I know this because I collected unemployment a couple of years ago after Nuance let me go,and I'm pretty sure they would've told me to apply through the state where Nuance based if that was an option. Different states have different rules, and in my state you CANNOT get partial unemployment.
