FTE versus IC company obligations to us - verpatha

Just sitting here with no work...what else is new in January ugh...and looking through my X-yrs old hire paperwork...If we are FTE and not IC, shouldn't they HAVE TO provide us with work per the shift commonly agreed upon? Of course, there is nothing in the hire paperwork to state ANY obligation from their part, tricky, tricky...And no, I won't say their name lol.  

I am asking this in all honesty and want sincere cool opinions, I already spent my morning ugly crying and cussing :)) Thank you much and HUGS to all you wonderful ladies out here trying to make a living. 

(PS - yeah, I am researching for a new career and probably going back to school...)
