Social Security Retirement - Meme Posted: Dec 10th, 2019 - 9:55 am In Reply to: In today's society $987 is not a lot of money. - see message
I am retired. I draw $1217 a month from Social Security Retirement. I took early retirement at age 62 (almost 4 years ago) because of the way medical transcription was headed. I had seen the "writing on the wall" and knew I had better get prepared. I can make $17,400 a year and not be penalized at all on my retirement benefits. That limit usually goes up every year. Starting in January, I can make I believe it is $46,000 up until August - my birth month when I turn 66 and not be penalized on my Social Security retirement benefits. Then I can make an unlimited amount after I turn 66 and still draw my retirement. I think anyone who is about to reach early retirement age should really consider doing as I did.
