Full retirement is 66 and some months depending on your age now, and you can earn as much money as you want on the side with no limits. You get more money than retiring at 62, when there is a limit to how much you can earn on the side. If you work until 70 you get even more, but lose the thousands of dollars you could have gotten between the age of 66 and 70.

There are so many rules that even the employees at social security rarely give correct information for your individual circumstance.

The best information is usually from a retirement financial institution that specializes in knowing all the social security rules. Not all of them do either.

Certainly don’t follow any advice given on this board.
