What's wrong with being referred to as a girl? MT is filled with females. It isn't just a female child, it's a young woman. What is disparaging about that? Perhaps he should have said "young woman, possibly old bag, can't hear..."? Maybe you would have been happier with "he or she." Not sure where your head is. Sensitive much?
