Guess what? Been there done that. Had an extremely abusive ex-spouse and I lived in an extremely rural area. I packed what I could in my very small car and left.

Fast forward to the present, I am now widowed and FIGHTING to get my late husband's military retirement pay. I get his other benefits, including having health insurance for the rest of my life which is paid for.

Again, if the situation is so bad that a person is with an abusive spouse or whatever, then they need to get the heck out! That is what law enforcement is for, orders of protection are for and divorces are for!
