helpful.  If you live in an area with craigslist postings, they can be a good resource for finding something local and/or remote which can provide escape from the MTSO scenario.  I've had better luck with craigslist in the past and currently than other sites such as Indeed or MTJobs.

This month, I started editing reports and reviewing records with a busy office nearby (still mostly at home), as well as a scribing job for a psychiatrist who is also local, but sees a few medical-legal patients each month in different offices.   Both of these jobs were on craigslist.

I was able to leave the MTSO job that I had for about a year and a half (no abuse or VDI, just the usual slow/no work, accounts leaving and money struggles).  Gratefully, both of the new jobs pay far more, so I can make up for lost ground fairly quickly.

I've also seen jobs on craigslist where the expertise of MT can apply elsewhere, including proofreading, editing, legal or insurance work, customer service, captioning, and/or anything that requires listening, documentation and accuracy.  Some of them are listed under the Legal, Writing, Non-Profit, and or Admin/Office tabs.

It's worth a look--you never know...
