I worked there for many years. The only way a transcriptionist would know how many applicants is if a TL told them, and I am not sure the TLs are regularly privy to that info. They have a near permanent ad on one of the job search sites, so I don't think there are plenty of applicants.
I was in a position to know that even after they go through all the hoops to hire on, a surprising number of new employees do not take to "their way of transcribing," with the abbreviating of the record. Their retention rate for new employees seemed very low to me, such a waste after all the testing, bringing everyone to Virginia, etc. If they weren't so he**bent on hindering the transcriptionists, they would probably be an ok place to work.
