Who told you you could only...sm - Anon

work 1 or 2 hours a week if you retired at age 62? Two hours a week times 52 weeks would be 104 hours for the year. You're allowed to make 17,040 in 2018, at which time, they deduct $1 in benefits for every $3 you go over that amount. If you divide 17,040 by the 104 hours you say you can only work, you'd be making $163.84/hour??? Somehow, I think you misunderstood or you misstated your figures. Did you mean 1 to 2 hours a day? Depending how many days you work a week that could be anywhere from 5-10 to 7-14 hours weekly. So those hours for the year times about your average hourly wage would be approximately what you'd make per year. This way, you can figure out whether your under or over the Soc. Sec. max for the year.
