I do wonder why a "good" MT would be motivated to do an outstanding job while a "bad" MT is making the same money. There are no raises anymore, no promotions. Striving for excellence isn't worth it anymore.
The pay is half or less of what it was just a few years ago. We were lied to about the production available with voice rec, yet we had to take the 50% pay cut.
Is it any wonder MTs are angry toward QA and management now?
Some of the QA people helped us drink the Kool-Aid. They still do!
The money is not worth extensive research and time spent on blanks anymore. The money is just too bad and you can easily put yourself UNDER minimum wage.
