I work with MDs who do medical-legal, workers' comp and expert witness work. If you're a very proficient and concise writer who can identify and summarize information pertinent to the case, spot inconsistencies (such as in patient depositions), and aren't overwhelmed easily (there can be thousands of pages sometimes), it's worth looking into. I enjoy it, and have learned a lot. It also pays well.
