What is VDI? - Out of the loop

I keep seeing it and I've read that it has to do with computer specs and some tracking/keystroke logging, but I'm not sure.

I got out of TTCI a while ago. Their QA is crazy. I had a question about something they were changing that was contrary to the account specs and the honest to Pete comment I got back from the QA person after some back and forth was "sometimes you just have to do it the way the client wants it instead of how it's listed in the account specs." I'm not even joking with that.
