Different switches have different feature combos - mechanical keyboard 4ever

Posted: Sep 24th, 2018 - 6:54 pm In Reply to: Keyboard - dailygrind

I have Cherry MX browns which have a tactile bump when you reach the activation point but no "click". If I concentrate, they're no louder than a membrane keyboard but I have a bad habit of bottoming out when I type which obviously makes a noise.

Others might suit me better but where I live there's nowhere to go and test out the different switches and I didn't want to pay and wait for a tester to be shipped.

The options are generally linear/tactile/clicky and how much force is need to actuate the switch.

My next project in a few years might be to build my own custom MK. I get lots of inspiration on the mechanical keyboard subreddit.

(You probably know most of this, dailygrind, but posting for those who don't)
