"Please know what you are speaking of before you get on a message board and spew things you are not even versed on."

Yikes.

PennHealth Manager, you were a good egg changing these contracts and going on the record with the pay rates. But in all honesty, 2 cents for QAing as an IC is one reason people on this board are so angry. Once they pay their taxes, they would have very little left over. Speaking to your contractors like you did above is mean spirited; you can do better. As I understand it, you don't set the rates, but you are the face of the company to these ladies.

It's one thing being disrespected by your employer. It's another thing to work for low wages. But to work for low wages and to be talked to so savagely simply isn't right. And your doing so in a public forum like this is humiliating to the people who work there.

I'd suggest before you type something counting to 10 -- maybe 20.

You demonstrate a real contempt for your workers here.

Let me help you out:

Maybe you could have put it this way:

Oh my, it looks as if you were looking at an old ad. Since that ad was placed, we have raised our editing rate from 3 cpl to 4 cpl! The QA rate remains at 2 cpl. To clarify our present policies, as a contractor you may work for other facilities in addition to PennHealth. Also there will be no limitations on how you use your computer. I'm hoping that I have cleared up any confusion you may have had. Please feel free to contact me at anytime if I may be of help. As you know, PennHealth's success relies on our talented medical language specialists, and as such I want to thank each one of you personally for the very real contributions you make to the success of PennHealth.

It doesn't cost you one cent to be nice, PennHealth Manager, and when people are making 2 cents to 4 cents a line for their hard work, the least they can ask for is to be treated with dignity and respect.
