Since they dumped us on Tuesday the 17th that is what I put, but we had to correspond with the official layoff date which was 20 July, so I had to redo the date, sign and send again.
It shouldn't be like pulling teeth, but it is, right? If you have not received the severance there could be a chance that you made a small error such as that and that is why.
It was clearly stated on the letter 20 July but it didn't impress upon me until I had to resign and resend, which was a pain in the neck.
