Now that you mention it, the letter states - they will pay both

I just assumed the second larger one was what they based the first one on, but wouldn't that be great to get both?

I don't want to get my hopes up but thanks for drawing my attention to that and I will have to do some more research to see if that applies.

If that is the case then the severance is much more generous than I would have hoped, but I am not great at understanding legalese, so please if anyone else understands what this means, do let us know.

It clearly states they will pay the base severance pay AND the enhanced severance pay in the letter. If so woohoo.
