With some companies, you might get paid monthly and have to submit an invoice. I work as an IC for two companies. One company, the invoicing is automatically done and I get paid every 2 weeks. The other company, I get paid twice a month and they also do the invoicing on their end, but I do keep a running total of my lines for both companies, in case there are any discrepancies.
