There are a lot of jobs that pay better than minimum wage and I know you probably have reasons for accepting the working conditions and wages you are given. I think it's sad that employers are having to make up the difference to meet minimum wage, which is still only $10 or $11 an hour because MT pay is so bad these days. $40 dollars an hour is the price housekeepers charge customers if working for Merry Maids or one of the services, they don't pocket all the money. They also purchase their own supplies, so many really many of them probably pull down half of that on a good day. In either situation, the thing to do might be to obtain your own clients and hire employees to do the work, then you are truly your own boss and can make other people jump.
