Graves' disease - Cindy

Posted: Jan 15th, 2018 - 3:37 pm In Reply to: I’d use agraves’ - Debbie

I was just reading the BOS3 -- something I do when I'm trying to get to sleep (hee, hee).

Everybody's right. Surely, if the client wants Graves' disease, give them Graves' disease.

If you go by the BOS3, it's:

Graves disease IF the word "disease" follows Graves. However, it would be Graves' in the following sentence:

The patient had a 6-year history of Graves'.

You use the apostrophe when Graves is used on its own.

Grave's is always covered in wrong sauce.
