Both CPC and CCS are widely known and very marketable. It depends on what type of coding you would like to do. CPC is generally physician coding and will have a heavy emphasis on CPT procedure codes and possibly lots of E&M. CCS is generally for facility coding, more inpatient. It sounds like you are or will be getting a chance to do both types. You can either pick the credential you want to obtain based on your preference of coding type, pick it based on which one is hot in your area of the country, or get both. Sounds to me like you would be capable of getting both, and you'd pretty much have all opportunities that come up in the future covered. Good luck!
