Last year, my tax service told me you had to have an XX amount of deductions to qualify and it was quite high. No way, do I have that many deductions, just the basic, so I don't think it has ever really helped us all that much, but I will put it in even if $5.00 comes off my taxes!
We get shafted every which way we turn.
