Just finished my HIPAA training for the umpteenth year. That information going out in an email for anyone to see is a definite HIPAA violation. The fines are not little ones either. I work IC since being screwed over and quitting Nuance, and I would lose my IC contract for doing something like that. I would also incur fines. The PC or TSM, or whatever they call themselves now, is liable for this breach as is the company. May they get what is coming to them.
