Where I live, it was the only option up until a few months ago. It is totally do-able and it is still faster than the junk being offered by cable.

I also travel with my family and work from the backseat of the vehicle. A couple of times I have hit a "dead zone" but it was only temporary and didn't affect my work.

I visited a few places on vacation that had no signal (valleys of mountainous areas) and that was a no-go, so couldn't work if I wanted to, but there are a lot of resources, especially groups on FB, for people who have to travel and need to know where coverage is available for them.

If you have a strong signal where you are, absolutely do it!
