I understand so well what it means to be older and not finding a way out of being an MT. I'm actually much older than you. I've tried for a number of years to gain employment in another arena and never was contacted for an interview. In a world of not being able to apply anywhere in person it only makes the process more difficult. I do believe age discrimination is alive and well regardless of what they say. Friends in other fields of work have been retired but that's not something I can even look forward to. How I wish something, someone would turn this industry upside down and at least pay us for the skills we have.
