I don't know what it is about MTs. They are "different."
They are the only group I have ever worked amongst (and I have worked with them for over two decades) who will NEVER, EVER stand up for themselves, on ANY issue.
They have low self esteem and will cowtow EVERY single time, suffering EVERY kind of employer/management abuse imaginable without a peep of protest. They do NOT stick together, and they do NOT support each other -- even when they are all getting screwed.
It's as though they were abused children. Hmmm...
