don't think that - it is the pitiful situation this economy is in and it is called capitalism and competition.
I am not a socialist, but capitalism without balance leaves no room for humanitarianism of which I do believe in. It is all for self and sticking it to anyone in your way, and doing whatever it takes to just take care of yourself.
It is pure dog-eat-dog and no one cares about anyone but themselves, and it is an ugly thing, in my humble opinion.
Maybe it is okay for the younger people, but it is horrifying at our age (I too have years and years of experience so am probably the same age or near).
It is like a philosophy or something - like Ari Onasis and his whaling business, when he was questioned about killing the whales into extinction. His response was something like, if they are not smart enough to survive, I was not his problem. He was going to keep killing them and just did not care about the future or what would come next...
That whole attitude is frightening. Maybe not so bad when you are young and not worrying about how you will survive, but over 50 - it is terrifying to think we could all just be left on our own. Like the days of sanitariums and places they used to put women or children who were poor - to be tortured and abused, or worse.
It is not you - I doubt you are being rejected - but more passed over by someone more hungry or aggressive. You probably would not want to work like that, anyway.
I think that is what the virtual jobs are now - those websites like guru and so many others - that you somehow have to be REAL aggressive. Like most MT jobs now, you have to fight and kick, work nonstop all hours and days just to get the work.
